Welcome to SalitaPH ("we", "our", or "us"), an AI-powered Tagalog language learning application developed by Jinho Son, an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the SalitaPH mobile application.
By using SalitaPH you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
- Email Used to create and identify your account
- Name Display name shown in the app
- Apple ID When you sign in with Apple (subject to Apple's privacy rules)
1.2 Learning Data
- Lesson progress, completed units, and quiz scores
- Daily learning streaks and XP (experience points)
- Pronunciation history and feedback scores
- Selected native language, Tagalog level, and learning goals
1.3 Voice & Audio Data
SalitaPH records your voice only during active pronunciation exercises or roleplay sessions. Audio is:
- Sent to speech-to-text services (Google Cloud STT) for real-time evaluation
- Sent to OpenAI for pronunciation coaching feedback
- Not permanently stored on our servers after processing
1.4 Device & Usage Information
- Device type and operating system version
- App usage events (screen views, feature usage) for analytics
- Crash reports and error logs for debugging
- Push notification preferences
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To provide personalized Tagalog lessons and AI coaching
- To evaluate your pronunciation and provide feedback
- To track your learning progress and achievements
- To send optional daily learning reminders (push notifications)
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
- To process subscription payments (if applicable)

SalitaPH integrates with the following third-party services:
Supabase (Database & Authentication)

Sentry (Error Tracking)

PostHog (Analytics)

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

4. Data Storage & Security
- Account and learning data are stored securely on Supabase servers
- Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device using Apple's Secure Enclave (SecureStore)
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Voice recordings are processed in real-time and are not permanently retained
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties
5. Data Retention
Your account data and learning progress are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your learning data upon request
- Opt out of push notifications at any time via device Settings

7. Children's Privacy
SalitaPH is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. Push Notifications
With your permission, SalitaPH sends daily learning reminder notifications. You can enable or disable these at any time in the app's Settings screen or in your device's iOS Settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of SalitaPH after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will notify you within the app.
